Atelier de Restauration et de Conservation à Annecy.
20 years old!
After university studies in art history at Paris X… followed by extensive training in the studio at Studio Genovesio in Saint Ouen, and numerous refresher courses in the latest restoration techniques ….
The studio opened its doors in Annecy in October 2003.
Since then, many works have been completed, from unknown artists to the masters of 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century painting. I work mainly for art market professionals, antique dealers, gallery owners, auctioneers and private individuals, but also for institutional bodies, town halls and heritage protection associations, in France and abroad. I speak English and Italian.
Conservation and restoration of frames and polychrome sculptures.
I work on very large works, such as Gabriel Loppé (1825-1913) Vue du Cervin (4 x 3 m) or miniature medallions. I bring the same care and attention to each of these objects.
My job as restorer involves two complementary areas:
Conservation, both preventive and curative, deals with everything to do with the condition of the support – canvas, wood, metal, ivory….. – and its unity with the pictorial layer.Refixing, patching, thread-by-thread repair of tears, lining….etc
Restoration takes care of the paint layer, its cleanliness, the state of oxidized varnish, mastication, color reintegration in gaps and final varnish.
After a detailed study of the work, I’ll draw up a diagnosis and a free estimate. I can also come to you.
Each work is unique and requires a certain depth of vision, patience and respect. I offer you fine, meticulous work, carried out with respect for ethical notions of reversibility and stability. A technical and photographic file is available on request.
